Cash Flow Projections: Proforma & Income Distribution Formulae

Proforma

The best way to test a proposed sale or transition plan is to test it through a set of projections known as an after tax cash flow or proforma. A proforma is a financial overview of what both the seller and purchaser can expect to realize after meeting all overhead costs, debt service, seller/ associate compensation (if applicable) and estimated personal income taxes. BM&H will run multiple variations, in combination with income distribution formulae, in order to determine that the projections demonstrate how both purchaser and seller will benefit from the transaction.

Income Distribution Formulae

When two or more doctors jointly own a practice, a formula needs to be established so the distributable profits and overhead can be fairly divided among them. BM&H has extensive experience in the development of successful income distribution formulae which provide for an equitable distribution and simultaneously encourage individual productivity.
