John was awarded the Touche Ross, CPAs, Tax Law Scholarship
while working on his law degree. He formerly worked with the
Office of the Chief Counsel, the legal branch of the Internal
Revenue Service, in Washington, D.C. John is a contributing
editor and coeditor of the Tax Questions & Answers Column
of Dental Economics Magazine, co-author of Employing Family

BLAKE W. HASSAN, CPA, JD born Welch, West Virginia,
September 4, 1963; admitted to bar, 1993, North Carolina,
U.S. District Court, Western District of North Carolina, and
U.S. Tax Court. Education: Louisiana State University (B.S.,
cum laude, 1985); University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
(J.D. with honors, 1993). Phi Alpha Delta, North Carolina

1991-1992; Business Manager, 1992-1993). Certified Public
Accountant, North Carolina, 1988. Member; Mecklenburg County

Blake has been engaged in the private practice of law since
1993. Prior to entering law school, he worked for approximately
